The State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) is conducted by the SLET Commission, Assam (NE Region) to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor across universities and colleges in all North Eastern states.

SLET Exam Pattern 2026

The State Level Eligibility Test consists of two papers, and both papers include objective-type questions. The question formats include:

• Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• Matching Type
• Assertion & Reasoning
• True/False Type

There is no negative marking in any paper.

SLET Exam Date & Timing 2026

The SLET 2026 Exam will be held on:

• 15th March 2026 (Sunday)
• Conducted in two sessions

Paper-wise Details

🔹 Paper I – General Aptitude (Common for All)

SLET Syllabus Paper 1

• Teaching aptitude
• Research aptitude
• Reasoning ability
• Comprehension
• Divergent thinking
• General awareness

This paper contains 50 compulsory objective questions, each carrying 2 marks, totaling 100 marks.

🔹 Paper II – Subject Specific

SLET Syllabus Paper 2

Paper–II consists of 100 objective questions, each carrying 2 marks.

Candidates must select one subject from the list of SLET subjects based on their post-graduation specialization.

There is no negative marking in Paper II.

Compensatory Time for PWD Candidates

Visually impaired candidates and PWD candidates with writing disability are provided with:

• 20 minutes extra for Paper I
• 20 minutes extra for Paper II
