The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination, AISSEE 2026. This entrance exam is conducted for admission to Class VI and Class IX in 33 Sainik Schools across India for the academic session 2026–2027.
About Sainik Schools
Sainik Schools are English-medium residential schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and managed by the Sainik Schools Society under the Ministry of Defence. These schools prepare students for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Naval Academy, and other premier officer training academies of the Indian Armed Forces.

Eligibility Criteria for Sainik School Admission 2026
For Class VI
- The candidate should be between 10 and 12 years of age as on 31st March 2026.
- The date of birth must fall between 01 April 2014 and 31 March 2016 (both days inclusive).
- Admission for girls is open for Class VI.
For Class IX
- The candidate should be between 13 and 15 years of age as on 31st March 2026.
- The date of birth must fall between 01 April 2011 and 31 March 2013 (both days inclusive).
- The student must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school at the time of admission.
- Admission for girls is open for Class IX, subject to availability of seats.
